Hi all!

My application uses cSmtp to send Emails with newsletters to customers.

Is there a way to send an email to a SSL or TLS encrypted server on port 465 or port 587 using the VO 2.8 cSmtp class?
If I try to use the nPort-parameter with 465 or 587 the application will crash after some time.

Hi Wolfgang,

thank you for the link. I imported the SendmailDemo.aef (VO 2.8 SP3) Unfortunately inherits the class ISmtpSender from OLEAutoObjectEx, but OLEAutoObjectEx is nowhere defined? So it is impossible to compile the executable.

What can I do to fix this problem?

Hi Kai,

OLEAutoObjectEx

is part of the VO 2.8 sp4 SDK. In case you don't have sp4 let me know.

Hi Kai,
for VO before 2.8SP4 there is an updated AutoObjectEx class (written by Meinhard for that release).
Unfortunately I'm out of office until until Friday evening.
So if Meinhard cannot provide you with this class, I will do (and I will add that also to my downloadable sample).

The latest service pack I'm using is SP3, unfortunately I don't have SP4. I tried to buy it from Fischer & Consultants several years ago but they told me it was not necessary and a waste of money.

There is NO way you can get VO 2.8 sp4 officially anymore.
GrafX no longer exists.
For a while Brian sold stuff on the web (without an invoice I was told) but that website seems to be closed now.

You will either have to continue to work with 2.8 sp3 (which is what I would do) or ask someone to share his copy with you.
Even better is: switch from VO to X# .

switching from VO -> X# is in the plan.

Now I'm in the process of converting my largest application from DBF to PostgreSQL using your VO2ADO (great product btw).

I'm dealing with a very large amount of data and things are getting difficult to manage with dbf and no more procrastinable .

Once I've closed this transition I'll go down the path of X#
